We would like to remind you that our next HR Exchange meeting is on Maximising and Managing Performance and will be taking place on Wednesday 25 May at AMP Technology Centre, Advanced Manufacturing Park, Rotherham from 12.00-14.00pm. This session will be repeated on 29 June at Mallard House, Doncaster from 12.00-14.00pm.
Some of the question we will be addressing are:
- ‘Culture’ – what exactly is it, and what’s ours?
- What are the things that influence and shape our culture – good and bad
- Steps we need to take to create the culture we want to maximise people performance
- Taking Action – What am I going to do?
- Managing and dismissing on performance grounds
Culture is often seen as the ‘soft side’ of managing a business but in reality, it’s actually the hardest! It can be the hardest to affect, develop and change, and it’s also the thing that can have the hardest impact (positively or negatively) on the business and people performance.
Andy Hanselman is an expert on helping businesses differentiate themselves in their markets and has over 20 years working with and learning from successful forward thinking businesses that get ahead, and stay ahead, of their competitors.. He calls them 3D Businesses because they are Dramatically and Demonstrably Different from their competitors!
3D Businesses ensure that their ‘culture’ is an integral ingredient of their ‘Dramatic Difference’ and in this practical, stimulating and participative session, Andy will highlight how they do that. He will help you evaluate and understand your current culture, identify the things that you do in HR that reinforce (and work against!) your preferred culture – it’s about your people, processes and systems! Crucially he will help you identify the actions that you and your business needs to take to create the culture that you want.
Managing and dismissing on performance Grounds
Jay Bhayani will look at the employment law implications of taking disciplinary action or dismissing a non performing employee.
