Lorna is a highly experienced HR professional and is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Personnel and Development (MCIPD) with a BA Hons in post grad Human Resource Management and a Fellow CIPD. She has developed her knowledge and expertise across the range of HR services working in the public, private and third sectors.
As an independent HR Consultant since 2006, Lorna’s clients include Sheffield Hallam University, the University of Sheffield, Sector Skills Development Agency, Nabarro Nathanson, Open College Network, Museums Sheffield, Victrex Manufacturing, Mencap and NHS East Lancashire. She was previously employed in senior HR roles for the Littlewoods Organisation, the National Health Service and Sheffield Hallam University.
Lorna has specific expertise in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures, ensuring that these are compliant and ‘fit for purpose’; supporting business start up; performance management; appraisal; competency frameworks, and problem resolution, supporting organisations as an independent investigator to deal with complex case work, performance, disciplinary and grievance issues. She also specialises in strategic reward, developing reward structures that support an organisation’s strategic objectives, salary and benefits benchmarking and job evaluation.
Engaging with people at all levels, Lorna develops positive relationships with clients working with them to meet their objectives and taking a pragmatic approach to delivering high quality outcomes.
