Sarah is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (MCIPD) and holds an MSc in Human Resource Management. She has significant experience of advising organisations on the management of people at a strategic and operational level.
Developing her early career in the Civil Service before moving to the Higher Education sector, Sarah has worked in a variety of generalist roles and specialised in Change Management and Employee Relations.
She uses her pragmatic approach to help managers navigate their way through a range of HR issues from beginning to the end of employment. This includes handling investigations, disciplinaries and grievances through to leading the HR support for large scale employee and trade union consultation, TUPE transfers and restructures affecting thousands of staff. Sarah has specialised more latterly in Change and Employee Engagement projects in the public sector.
Sarah’s strengths lie in her ability to assess the needs of her clients and work with them in a way that helps them to achieve their goals quickly. She is pragmatic, task focused but also thoughtful and able to work at any level in the organisation to help managers achieve desired outcomes.
In addition to her work in the public sector, Sarah has supported small businesses with a range of generalist HR issues including recruitment, contract development and performance management. She is currently the HR Director of the Bamford Community Society and actively involved in the operation of a community hub employing over 30 staff, and comprising a pub, post office and café owned and run by the community since 2013.
