In October 2024, there will be a significant change in the law which puts thee responsibility on employers to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace.

Employers must take proactive measures now to educate their employees on this matter. It’s crucial to acknowledge that employees may not have a full understanding of sexual harassment, especially in diverse workplaces encompassing various cultures and generations.

Sexual harassment is a major contributor to a toxic workplace culture and is often underreported. To fulfil your duty of care to your people, employers need to comprehend the ramifications of sexual harassment and take preventive measures.

Sexual harassment includes any unwelcome sexual behaviour, whether physical or verbal, in person or online. It can manifest as a singular incident or a repeated pattern, affecting individuals of any gender. Examples include unwanted advances, intrusive questions, offensive jokes, sexually explicit emails or messages, sharing pornographic material, and inappropriate touching, which can also constitute sexual assault.

Sexual harassment is about power – it involves making someone feel uncomfortable, humiliated or intimidated. It may be perpetrated by colleagues, by clients or customers, or by managers or leaders.

Prevention is better than cure. We believe sexual harassment awareness training should never be just a box-ticking exercise. Our Sexual Harassment Prevention training provides practical, interactive content designed to foster genuine engagement and collective responsibility in cultivating and maintaining a culture of respect.

The insightful session provides an in-depth exploration of workplace harassment, including the power dynamics of harassment, understanding what constitutes sexual harassment, navigating the “grey areas” of inappropriate behaviour, how and when to intervene as a witness, and overcoming fear and shame to speak out if you experience sexual harassment.

This course will cover the above contents, with further in-depth discussions to support individuals in management roles to ensure they feel supported in managing employees and situations at work.

The individual delegate cost for this training is £150 + VAT.

Delivery and materials

The training will be delivered online via Zoom and all delegates will receive learning materials including a workbook to use during the training and as a reference guide after the training. At the end of the course, all delegates will be asked to complete a quiz to evidence their understanding of the training, and on successful completion of the quiz, delegates shall be provided with a certificate of attendance.
