Watertight OnSite
In addition to our remote advice, we can come out and provide tailored support face-to-face or virtually and get hands-on when you don’t have the time or just need extra support and guidance. That could be helping you to conduct consultation meetings, implementing HR contracts and policies, running a disciplinary hearing or just being there to answer questions from your employees. There are no recruitment fees, no commitment to a minimum term and our service is completely flexible to suit your business needs.
How do I get the most from Watertight OnSite?
1. Ensuring legal compliance
A key challenge that businesses face, particularly SMEs, is having the time to sort out essential compliance documents such as contracts and staff policies. For example, right to work checks (£20,000 fine for failure to conduct correctly), contracts of employment (up to 4 weeks gross pay in the Employment Tribunal for failure to provide legally compliant contracts), absence records (failure to monitor absence makes it very hard to take action where absence levels are unacceptable).
We can visit your premises, audit your processes, and put in place a plan to ensure that your records are correct and legally compliant.
You may need to issue new contracts of employment to your team which can often be time-consuming and stressful. For our Watertight clients, we provide unlimited remote support with these processes however our OnSite support services mean that we can be there in person to support you and help deliver information, answer questions from employees and generally ensure the process is conducted correctly.
Having us OnSite to support with consultation meetings is likely to save you considerable time and money in the long run and ensures you have signed contracts, and essential step for every business.
2. Support with internal processes
Many business owners and managers choose to engage us to undertake internal processes on their behalf, for example, investigations and disciplinary hearings, however, others find it beneficial just to have us present at meetings to give advice on legal or procedural points and to coach line managers.
You may have seen in the media that Jaguar Land Rover lost a case in the employment tribunal after dismissing an employee to whom they had paid almost 100k in sick pay to and who had missed 808 shifts due to sickness. A critical point that the Judge raised was that they failed to follow their own sickness absence management procedure correctly.
We can be parachuted in to support you at those critical moments, ensuring that you navigate the process correctly and avoid making seemingly small and innocent errors which may give rise to costly employment tribunal claims.
As a tip for getting the most out of Onsite, schedule drop-ins for your line managers whilst we are there so that they can come and speak to us about anything they may need some advice on.
We work on day and half-day rates and remember if you are a Watertight client you can get up to 10% off our fees. Frequency of visits can be agreed in advance and can be one off or a regular booking.
