Learning Outcomes:

  • know the 9 protected characteristics in the Equality Act 2010;
  • understand the key definitions of discrimination, harassment and victimisation under the act;
  • understand key impacts of the Act on employment;
    understand what unconscious bias is and when this might occur;
  • have a practical knowledge of their responsibilities and accountabilities;
  • understand what the implications are if the correct procedures are not followed; and
  • take away practical initiatives to apply to the workplace to prevent discrimination

Course Structure

The course can be delivered:

  1. over 1 full day which will include a workbook and a certificate of attendance upon completion of this course; or
  2. a condensed version virtually for 1 hour which will include a factsheet.

This session is interactive, with peer-to-peer learning to allow you to think practically about how to apply what you have learnt.
